Something has to change…

You just don’t know where to start.

Individualised therapy for people who are tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed and not quite enough.

“If we climb high enough, we will reach a height from which tragedy ceases to look tragic.”

  • Irvin D. Yalom

My name is Megan Cornelissen, and I'm a clinical psychologist based in Leiden, the Netherlands, working with adults both in-person and online, globally.

I specialise in anxiety and everything that travels with it. The self-doubt that follows you into meetings. The overanalyzing that keeps you up at night. The exhaustion of performing confidence you don't actually feel, or the quiet loneliness of going through it all without really letting anyone in.

Most of my clients are high-functioning on the outside; meeting deadlines, showing up, keeping it together. But on the inside, they're running on empty. Stuck in cycles of worry, self-criticism, and burnout that no productivity hack can touch. They're often their own harshest critic. Quick to blame themselves, slow to give themselves credit, and carrying a quiet but persistent feeling that they're somehow not quite enough. If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

I have Filipino and Dutch roots, and my own experience of navigating life across cultures gives me a genuine understanding of what it means to build yourself, and sometimes rebuild yourself, in environments that don't always feel like home. I work with many expats and internationals for exactly this reason, though my clients come from all walks of life, united by one thing: anxiety that's getting in the way of the life they want to be living.

I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Utrecht University and a Bachelor's in Social Sciences from University College Roosevelt. I am a registered member of the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP), which means you can trust that your care meets the highest professional and ethical standards.

Approach to therapy

Therapy, done well, should feel like it was made for you. Because it was.

My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), one of the most researched and effective approaches for anxiety, burnout, and low self-esteem. But I don't stop there. I draw from schema therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and other evidence-based methods depending on what you actually need, not what fits neatly into a protocol.

This integrative way of working grew out of my early career, which included a clinical internship at a rehabilitation centre in Thailand , an experience that showed me just how powerful it is to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. That belief has shaped everything about how I work.

In our sessions, we don't just talk about how you're feeling. We get curious about why ; the patterns, the beliefs, the moments that taught you to doubt yourself or stay small. And then we build something different. Real tools. Real shifts. Not overnight, but sustainably.

Sessions are held in English, one-on-one, for 60 minutes.

Your first consultation 20 minutes, no charge, is simply a conversation. A chance to see if we're a good fit before you commit to anything.
